Business parcel guide
How to choose a UPS and FedEx parcel audit company
Choose a parcel audit company by the work it performs, the evidence it provides and the total commercial arrangement. A provider’s name or a savings headline is not enough to establish fit.
Start with the shipping program you actually run
List the carriers and accounts you use, approximate weekly package volume, the services you ship with and who currently reviews invoices. Bring one or two recurring questions: an unexplained charge, unclear refund reporting or an analysis task your team does not have time to complete. A useful selection process begins with those facts, not a promised recovery percentage.
Operations may need the work handled; finance may need a clear explanation of costs and credits. Ask how the proposed service supports both. A software login, a filed claim and an explanation of the finding are different deliverables. Decide which of them your business needs.
Use six questions to compare providers
Which invoices and shipments are reviewed? Which recovery categories are pursued, and who performs the follow-through? What reports and explanations will you receive? Who can answer parcel questions? What information and access are needed? How are fees calculated, and what work remains with your team?
Record answers from each provider’s actual proposal. If a service is not described, ask rather than assuming it is missing. Compare the same period and scope. A percentage of recovered refunds and a subscription cannot be compared fairly by their headline numbers alone.
Ask for evidence you can follow
A useful demonstration connects the source charge, the issue reviewed, the action taken and the current status. A report should identify its period and explain its measures. Ask whether an amount is an observation, a submitted claim, an approved adjustment or a credit actually posted. Those stages are not interchangeable.
Look for a clear explanation of the charge reviewed, the finding and the next action. For a case study, review the services performed, the period covered and how the outcome was measured. These details help you judge whether the work fits your shipping program.
Where Franklin Parcel fits
Franklin checks every UPS and FedEx invoice one by one and audits every shipment. Eligible GSR and void claims are flagged and filed; broader billing recovery can require manual review and email. Ongoing analytics, reports, cost breakdowns and parcel expertise sit alongside the recovery work.
Franklin supplies these capabilities through a subscription. Customers keep 100% of recoveries, ownership of their accounts, their carriers and their shipping process. The intended benefit is a parcel department’s tools and work without developing the system and hiring a dedicated team. Discuss the service appropriate to your program before engagement.
Make the next conversation useful
Bring your carrier mix, volume, current review arrangement and a question you want answered. You do not need to enter carrier credentials into the inquiry form. Our team can explain the service and information needed to begin, then agree on the appropriate next step. This is a company-published selection guide, not an independent ranking of audit companies.
